Here is Yoshiaki & Kyoko's L'atypique ('Atypical') or Skin-Contact/Orange Riesling. Shorter skin-contact than the Pinot Gris, this wine has light and fine tannins overlaid by delicate citrus fruits. Dry Riesling with great texture.
Vineyard: Red Shed Vineyard / Domain Road Vineyard
Soil: Alluvial sandy loam / clay loam
Viticulture: No pesticides, herbicides, system fungicides or inorganic fertilisers used
Harvest: Hand picked. 23 March & 11 April 2022
Vinification: Natural yeast fermentation. 26 - 29 days on skins. No additives except for <20 mg/L sulphites added before bottling
Maturation: 11 months in French oak barrels. No new oak.
Bottling: 13 April 2023 without fining or filtration. 3262 bottles produced.
